Title: How Do Pandemics Affect Government Expenditures?
Abstract:  Based on a sample of panel data for 14 countries spanning the period 2000-2018, this paper investigates the effect of pandemics on government expenditure and public health expenditure. The empirical results show that pandemics lead to an increase in government health expenditure, but the positive effect on total government expenditure may not be statistically significant.
