Badri is an Associate Professor of Economics at the IIT Hyderabad. Previously, he was a Fellow at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi and an Economist at National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi. He had a brief association with the Department of Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), United States, where he worked as a Research Associate. He is the recipient of a Ph.D. Intern at the World Institute of Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), Helsinki, Finland.
Badri has also received best paper awards in national conferences and has been invited by several institutions in India as an invited speaker. His area of research expertise is in economic growth, productivity and efficiency analysis, trade and industry, energy economics and applied econometrics. He has published extensively on these topics including in journals such as Energy Economics, Economic Modelling, Empirical Economics, Emerging Markets Reviews, and International Trade Journal.
